About this community map

Maintained by Liang Chao · Updated October 23, 2026

Explore city limits and school attendance boundaries, or find an address to see its preliminary geographic matches. This is an independent reference tool, not a County or school-district service.

Coverage

InformationIncluded coverage
City lookupAll 15 Santa Clara County cities and unincorporated County areas. Overlays are offered for Cupertino, San Jose, Santa Clara, Saratoga and Sunnyvale.
Elementary & middle schoolsCupertino Union School District (CUSD) only: 14 elementary and 5 middle attendance areas, plus 23 school-location markers. Some choice/program schools have markers without neighborhood attendance polygons.
High schoolsFremont Union High School District (FUHSD) only: Cupertino, Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook and Monta Vista.
Trustee areaFoothill-De Anza Community College District Trustee Area 4 (TA4). The separate Precinct mode adds precinct boundaries and aggregate voter statistics from the supplied datasets.

No school-area match does not mean an address has no assigned school. Other school districts are not included. Confirm enrollment, school year, programs and final assignment directly with the relevant district.

How to use it

  1. Enter the full address, including unit if applicable, and city or ZIP. Check that the returned address is the one you intended.
  2. Read the location box. Turn on Cities or school areas to explore the boundaries. Click the box again to close it.
  3. Use Map options to control school auto-zoom or copy a city link. That link shares city and mode only; pins, overlay selections and grouping edits are not included.

Accuracy and verification

Addresses are located using the City of San Jose’s public County address locator. Its match score measures how well the input matches its records. A score of 100/100 is not a guarantee of location accuracy or school or TA4 assignment. Street-range and other estimated results need additional verification.

Address pins within 500 feet of a TA4 or published school boundary receive a verification prompt, on either side of the boundary. This is a conservative review rule, not a measured error radius or a guarantee for addresses farther away. Map clicks inspect the exact clicked point; clicking is not an independent verification of an address pin.

School results are preliminary. Check the address and school year with the official CUSD locator or FUHSD SchoolFinder. For electoral districts, use the County district lookup.

Boundary sources

Municipal limits use Santa Clara County Planning / LAFCO data retrieved October 21, 2026. FUHSD areas use the district-linked SchoolFinder retrieved October 21. CUSD areas follow its currently linked locator, retrieved October 22; its published study/version does not independently confirm an enrollment year. Full sources and known disagreements are described inside each map menu’s Boundary source note.

Known review areas include the CUSD/County boundary disagreement in Sunnyvale and the TA4 source disagreement involving precinct 9266. Their verification messages remain active even when their optional overlays are hidden.

Precinct mode and regional groups

Resident mode is the default and does not load precinct voter-statistic datasets. Precinct mode is a separate public option. Regional campaign groups are off by default and must be explicitly enabled within that mode. They are working organizational proposals, not official County regions or private information. Group edits are stored only in your browser and do not update other visitors’ maps.

Useful details are the task you tried, what happened, what you expected, and your browser/device. Include a public landmark or screenshot if useful; remove private information first. No searched address or coordinates are automatically added to the email.

Try address lookup, city switching, school overlays and shared city links on your phone or computer. If you report an assignment mismatch, include an official locator reference if available. You can choose whether to share the address needed to reproduce it.
