Community Map & Foothill-De Anza TA4 Precinct Explorer · Updated October 23, 2026

This map is maintained by Liang Chao. You do not need to provide your name, email or voter-registration details to use it.

Address and precinct searches

When you submit an address, your browser sends that address directly to the City of San Jose’s public Santa Clara County address locator. That service receives the query and normal connection information, including your IP address. Its handling of requests is outside this map’s control. See the City’s privacy information.

The map keeps up to 20 recent address queries and results temporarily in page memory. They are not saved to this site’s database, grouping files or precinct exports, or added to a campaign contact list. Reloading the page clears this temporary cache. Clearing a pin removes it from the map but does not clear that cache.

Precinct-number searches use the map’s existing datasets, without sending the number to the address locator. City, school and TA4 boundary checks happen in your browser. Clicking the map does not send the click coordinates to a geocoder.

Map and hosting services

Your browser requests map images directly from OpenStreetMap. These requests reveal the map areas being viewed and technical information such as your IP address and browser information. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Hosting and network providers also process requests needed to deliver this site and may retain technical logs. This map does not control those providers’ log-retention periods. No advertising trackers have been added to the map.

Saved preferences and grouping edits

The selected precinct-city dataset, school auto-zoom preference and regional-group edits are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded to a shared account or server. You can remove them using your browser’s settings to clear this site’s data; back up grouping edits first if you want to keep them. Other map selections may last only for the current page session.

Sharing and trial feedback

Copy city link includes only the selected city and map mode. It omits searched addresses, pins, map position, overlay choices and local grouping edits. Report an issue opens your email app with a fixed subject; it does not automatically include an address, coordinates or search history. Include only information you choose to share. Feedback you send by email is received by the recipient and email providers.

Official links and questions

County voter tools, school locators and other external links have their own privacy practices. Enter registration or other identifying details only on the official service you choose to visit.
